The Facilities & Maintenance Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across Nomad GCS facilities. This role ensures all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and Nomad standards. The position directly supports production uptime, facility reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a licensed Journeyman Electrician (or higher) with strong industrial and facility maintenance experience.
Key Responsibilities Electrical Systems & Maintenance- Install, maintain, and repair facility electrical systems, including:
- Distribution panels, transformers, and switch gear
- Conduit, wiring, and control systems
- Lighting systems (interior/exterior, emergency, and high-bay)
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults to minimize downtime
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on facility systems
- Support equipment tie-ins and facility expansion projects
- Maintain electrical infrastructure supporting manufacturing operations
- Partner with Production, Engineering, and Facilities teams to ensure uptime
- Assist with layout changes, equipment moves, and new installations
- Support backup power systems (generators, UPS systems where applicable)
- Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and local/state electrical codes
- Follow and promote Nomad GCS safety policies and "Do Right" culture
- Identify electrical hazards and implement corrective actions
- Maintain proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
- Participate in safety audits, continuous improvement efforts, and ISO audits as required
- Diagnose complex electrical issues using meters, schematics, and controls knowledge
- Recommend improvements to increase efficiency, reliability, and safety
- Assist in standardizing electrical practices across facilities
- Document repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities
- Active Journeyman Electrician License (State of Montana or reciprocal)
- 5+ years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or facilities maintenance electrical work
- Strong knowledge of:
- National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Industrial electrical systems (480V, 3-phase systems)
- Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Master Electrician License
- Experience in manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with PLCs, control systems, and automation
- Experience with generators, backup systems, or mobile power systems
- Experience supporting facility expansion or construction projects
Physical Requirements
- Work performed in manufacturing and facility environments
- Exposure to electrical systems, heights, and industrial conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks (climbing, bending, standing)
- May require occasional overtime or off-hours support for critical issues
- Will require travel between Columbia Falls plant and Libby plant regularly. Will require occasional travel to Huntsville, AL facility.
