Job SummaryThis position requires the skills and experience in the design and documentation of Mechanical systems manufactured by IPG Systems. Work skills and discipline are required to complete specific engineering tasks and will work closely with other Engineering personnel. You will be utilizing multiple engineering skills including design of mechanical structures, motion systems and electrical/pneumatic controls systems for robotic mechanism. The successful candidate must have a sense of accountability to ensure that equipment developed by IPG Systems is responsive to the needs of customers, cost effective, and delivered in a timely manner.
Responsibilities- Responsible for Mechanical CAD design and development
- Analyze product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine design requirements for manufacturability as defined by existing processes and methods
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specification
- Maintain documentation associated within a project including engineering change notices, bills of materials, detailed CAD models and associated component drawings.
- Create and maintain part numbers and BOM's in the IPG ERP system
- Directly involved in the transfer of hardware designs to manufacturing
- BS Mechanical Engineering and 3 – 5 years' experience
- Experience with 3D design tools such as Solid Works (preferred)
- Ability to apply knowledge of engineering principles to design components and mechanisms
- Experience with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) required for interaction within group, with customers, R&D, and international colleagues
- Ability to multi-task and balance multiple projects of varying scope and complexity
Pay Range: $71,386 - $94,587 (Minnesota)
