Position Title: Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Halethorpe, MD (On-site; flexibility to transition to hybrid after training)
Assignment Type: Temporary (2–3 months) with potential to convert to permanent
Compensation: $30 – $31 / Hour
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job DescriptionOur client is seeking multiple Accounts Payable Specialists to support a high-volume accounting environment during a large-scale accounts payable cleanup initiative. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate vendor payments, maintaining financial records, and supporting month‑end close processes.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, comfortable working with large data sets, and confident using accounting systems and Excel in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process high‑volume vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Perform full‑cycle accounts payable functions including invoice entry, coding, approvals, and payment processing
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain and update vendor records, including tax documentation and payment details
- Prepare and review accounts payable aging reports and other month‑end reporting
- Support month‑end close activities related to accounts payable
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
- Partner with internal departments to resolve invoice and payment issues
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of accounts payable experience in a high‑volume environment
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and controls
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems; AP automation tools a plus
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working with large data sets and technology‑driven processes
