Senior Accountant

Company Description

The Senior Accountant will be reporting to the Controller. They will be responsible for various day-to-day accounting activities. Must have a strong accounting background and the ability to solve problems on their own.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in month end close process, including preparation of journal entries and accruals
• Analyze balance sheet accounts and prepare detailed supporting schedules for reconciliation
• Assist with creation of Purchase Orders for trade vendors and intercompany transactions
• Model, analyze, and problem solve using data and reporting from company databases, accounting systems, and MS Excel
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Analyze financial data and trends for strategic decision-making
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
• Coordinate with Controller to facilitate year end audits
• Establish and maintain files and records to document transactions

Education / Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong Organizational skills coupled with the ability to multi-task, detail oriented, work independently and a self-starter.
• Requires strong analytical skills and superior customer service skills.
• Ability to direct and supervise
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills are a must. Job requires a high level of initiative and creativity.

Base Salary: $73,500 – $136,600

Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon, but not limited to the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location and application employment laws. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
