Senior Accounting Associate

Join Aprio's Outsourced Accounting team and help clients maximize their opportunities. The role involves leading the monthly close process for Government Contracting clients, training and overseeing Staff Accountants, and performing the most technically complex tasks while working with the engagement manager to deliver superior customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and foster positive relationships with clients.
  • Ensure timely communication of project status both internally and externally.
  • Work as part of a team to provide outsourced accounting services for multiple clients.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, GAAP‑based financial statement packages, and supporting analytical worksheets.
  • Prepare and oversee client invoicing; understand billing requirements for federal contractors.
  • Work closely with tax and audit associates to ensure GAAP and tax accounting accuracy.
  • Become technically proficient in several cloud‑based accounting software systems.
  • Prepare and review monthly close entries including payroll, fringe, prepaid, and liability accruals.
  • Work independently in a highly flexible, remote model utilizing MS Teams.
Qualifications
  • 4‑Year Accounting degree required.
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience with Quick Books and/or Unanet preferred.
  • Superior time‑management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient use of Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desire to provide top‑quality customer service.
