Property Accountant

The Property Accountant will oversee the financial operations for a portfolio of properties. Core duties include posting monthly accruals, preparing entries for asset, liability, and capital accounts through account analysis, and producing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. The role also involves bank reconciliations and support with budget preparation.

• Monthly Financial Reporting: Compile full financial packages, including balance sheets, income statements, and variance analysis.
• General Ledger & Journal Entries: Record monthly accruals and oversee general ledger journal entries.
• Reconciliations: Conduct bank reconciliations and reconcile general ledger and sub-ledger accounts.
• Escrow Analysis: Review, reconcile, and maintain escrow and impound accounts.
• Lease/Tenant Analysis: Monitor lease agreements, rent rolls, and CAM reconciliations.
• Audit Support: Support preparation of year-end audit work papers.

• Experience: At least 3 years in property accounting.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Software: Skilled in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
• Software (Preferred): Experience with MRI Software strongly preferred.
• Skills: Solid grasp of GAAP, strong attention to detail, and effective time management.
• Handles financial data with confidentiality and integrity.
