Senior Accountant

A growing organization headquartered in the Columbia area is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its collaborative and expanding finance team. This hybrid opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys a blend of operational accounting responsibilities, process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional exposure within a fast-paced environment.

• Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for the month-end close process
• Analyze financial statements and investigate variances across operational accounts
• Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages
• Support operational accounting activities including accruals, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions
• Collaborate with internal departments to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency
• Assist with audit support and provide documentation for external auditors
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 2+ years of accounting experience required
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes
• Experience with in a fast-paced or growing organization preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment
