Staff Accountant About the OpportunityA growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the accounting functions for multiple operating entities, performing full-cycle accounting responsibilities and contributing to accurate and timely financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple business units or locations.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare, review, and post general ledger journal entries.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Analyze financial results and investigate budget-to-actual variances.
- Generate and reconcile payroll-related accounting entries.
- Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules.
- Prepare financial reports and support management with financial analysis.
- Review financial data for accuracy and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
- Experience performing bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Experience supporting month-end close activities.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
