Accounts Payable Manager

We're hiring an experienced Accounts Payable (AP) Leader to oversee a highly tenured team and manage the financial processes that keep active construction projects moving. You will guide a dedicated AP team, partner closely with project and operational leaders, and play a key role in protecting cash flow, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and ensuring financial accuracy across the organization. Step into an established department with a talented team already in place, while helping identify process improvements that support the company's continued growth.

• Lead a team of experienced accounts payable professionals, ensuring smooth disbursement activity and consistent service to internal stakeholders and vendors.
• Strengthen and refine internal controls, invoice coding procedures, and contract compliance processes to safeguard company assets.
• Navigate vendor relationships, resolve complex account discrepancies, and oversee detailed statement reconciliations.
• Manage cash disbursement activity, Positive Pay exceptions, and account funding coordination to support accurate and timely payment cycles.
• Oversee quarterly tax filings and lien waiver collection processes, helping maintain compliance across active construction projects.
• Partner with Accounting and Finance leadership on process improvements, reconciliations, and special projects that enhance operational efficiency.

• Proven experience leading accounts payable teams, preferably within construction, contracting, or project-based environments.
• Strong understanding of cash controls, payment processes, vendor management, and AP best practices.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Experience with ERP and financial systems; exposure to Timberline/Sage and Timber Scan is a plus.
• A collaborative leadership style with the ability to earn trust across accounting, operations, and project teams.
