Main Purpose of JobThis position is a member of the senior leadership team for the Department, and serves as Assistant Director for the Child Support Administration. This position provides program oversight, budgetary responsibility, consultation, direction, evaluation and leadership to this program administration and collaborates with the Assistant Director for Family Investment to provide the same for the Work Opportunities program. This position also requires the ability to identify and develop needed resources and practices that support the population of the community and ensures that at all times, customer service meets or exceeds the Department's standards.
POSITIONDUTIES
- Provide administrative leadership and oversight of all aspects of the Child Support Division to ensure effective, efficient, and high-quality program operations.
- Establish, implement, and maintain procedures, internal controls, and performance measures to evaluate the efficiency, effectiveness, compliance, and quality of Child Support services.
- Develop and implement corrective actions, process improvements, and comprehensive strategies designed to strengthen local operations and improve program outcomes.
- Provide leadership and direction to Child Support personnel ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, performance expectations, and operational standards.
- Coordinate the integration of Child Support programs and services with other Department programs to support the overall mission, goals, and strategic priorities of the Department of Social Services and the Maryland Department of Human Services.
- Monitor and analyze required reports, performance data, quality assurance findings, and other operational indicators to identify trends and areas requiring management intervention.
- Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits, program reviews, monitoring activities, and corrective action initiatives.
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Eight years of experience in administrative, professional or technical work, three years must have involved supervision of other employees or exercising responsibility for program development.
- Candidates may substitute graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 credit hours on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of the required general experience.
- Candidates may substitute additional professional or technical experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classifications or Administrative Officer specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical, and Office Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education, two years must have been in an administrative supervisory or consultative capacity.
