Duration: 3–6 month contract, with potential to convert based on performance and business need Salary Conversion: 70k Position Summary

We are seeking a Buyer with a strong background in procurement and supply chain operations to support a growing business during a period of increased purchasing activity. This role will focus on purchase order management, invoice reconciliation, supplier coordination, and open order follow-up to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment across multiple manufacturers.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working directly with suppliers, and experienced supporting purchasing activities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchase Order Management: Create, review, and maintain purchase orders; categorize and track POs for accurate reporting and visibility.
  • Invoice Reconciliation: Review and reconcile supplier invoices, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate resolution with vendors and internal teams.
  • Open Order & Expediting: Monitor open orders, follow up with suppliers on status, and ensure timely responses and deliveries.
  • Supplier Coordination: Serve as a point of contact for suppliers and manufacturers, supporting communication and order execution.
  • Inbound Shipments: Track container deliveries and inbound shipments to ensure on-time arrival and receipt.
  • Procurement Support: Partner closely with internal stakeholders to support buying decisions and order fulfillment.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve purchasing and supply chain processes for efficiency and scalability.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain accurate records, update systems, and support day-to-day procurement operations.
Qualifications
  • Experience in procurement, buying, supply chain, or logistics roles.
  • Hands-on experience with purchase orders, invoice reconciliation, and supplier communication
    .
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • Experience working with multiple manufacturers or outsourced suppliers preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in the Columbia, MD office
    .

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
