Specifications Writer

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized architectural and engineering firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth. A full‑time specifications writer is needed. Responsibilities include creating project manuals for vertical construction projects; preparing and assisting with writing specifications for Divisions 00‑14 and coordinating the entire project manual; assisting with product research, evaluations, and selection; developing and updating master specifications and leading formatting across disciplines;

participating in educational opportunities related to building products, materials, technologies, and standards; and mentoring staff. Travel will be required.

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in construction management, architecture, or engineering
• At least eight years of relevant experience

• Experience leading the specification writing process for Divisions 00‑14 while meeting schedules and quality expectations
• Knowledge of current products, materials and standards, including those specified in Divisions 03‑14, ICC Codes, and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFCs)
• Experience with specification software:
  Master Spec, Specs Intact, BDS Spec Link
• Professional licensure as an architect or engineer
• LEED AP, WELL Accredited Professional, or Guiding Principles Compliance Professional certification
• Experience developing and maintaining master specifications for vertical construction projects

Strong communication and organizational skills, self‑motivation, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
