A growing construction and energy solutions organization is seeking a Preconstruction Manager / Estimator to join its team. This individual will play a key role in project planning, cost estimating, budgeting, and preconstruction strategy for a variety of commercial and energy-related projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
Responsibilities- Lead all preconstruction and estimating activities from concept through project award
- Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, and final cost estimates
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Develop budgets, value engineering solutions, and cost-saving recommendations
- Identify project risks and opportunities during preconstruction
- Support business development efforts and client presentations
- Assist in bid submissions, proposal preparation, and contract reviews
- +5 years of experience in estimating and preconstruction within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction means and methods
- Experience delivering projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region
- Proven ability to develop accurate budgets and estimates
- Strong understanding of subcontractor procurement and bid management
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Based in or near Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, or Maryland
- Established network of subcontractors and suppliers within the Mid-Atlantic market
- Experience with energy, federal, commercial, institutional, or infrastructure projects
