Apprenticeship & Workforce Innovation Adjunct Instructor Pool

Bring your industry experience to Howard Community College as a part-time adjunct faculty in our Apprenticeship and Workforce Innovation unit. The need for part-time instructors is anticipated to continue to rise, and the division is recruiting qualified applicants with a variety of skills and proven teaching ability for the following categories of classes:

• Dispensary Occupations
• Computer and Information Technology

• Green Job Certifications
• Business

Must have a minimum of 3-5 years experience in the Apprenticeship or Workforce Development field in your area of expertise. Current active certifications/licenses are required. A minimum of two references is required. Teaching experience is a plus! Must be available on weekends and evenings. Technology proficiency is required, as well as access to high speed internet and computer.

Instructors will utilize multiple teaching methods, including online instruction, face to face skills training and simulation activities. Instructors will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating the student experience.

Essential role responsibilities include assessing student engagement/understanding during each class, collecting, grading and reporting assignments and homework, assessing and monitoring student progress and understanding while providing meaningful feedback, providing academic advice and guidance to students, maintaining and updating course materials and syllabus to maintain current industry best practices, and delivering online instruction and face-to-face skills instruction.

Industry certifications must be current if applicable. Prior teaching experience as an instructor in training programs is a plus. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are a must. Exhibit a strong desire to support student success and prepare students for employment in the workforce.
