Responsibilities- Designs and plans network communications systems.
- Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
- Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
- Conduct testing of network design.
- Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure proper set configuration options.
- Plans implementation of and upgrades to the network.
- Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations.
- Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
- Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance the capabilities of the network. May be assigned responsibility for the management of the systems administration function, including associated staff.
- Career level with a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts.
- Ability to articulate technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with various levels of stakeholders.
- Independently determines and develops approach to solutions
- 4 years of experience in network engineering on network enterprise environments
- Experience in network design, implementation, and hardening
- Experience working on enterprise networks within classified environments
- Experience working with encryption devices (i.e. TACLANEs)
- Experience with Firewall management
- One (1) or more of the following: CCNA+ Security, CYSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Sec+, CND, SSCP, CASP, CISSP
- Cisco CCNA or higher
- Four (4) years of hands-on enterprise network experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience working with Palo Alto hardware
- Prior Military Experience
