Your responsibilities and tasks
- Development of process flow diagram (PFD) and heat and mass balance;
Coordinate with European Centers of Competence within GEA when needed; - Recommend and support laboratory and/or pilot tests;
Specification of process equipment including size and materials of construction; - Engage and evaluate third‑party suppliers’ proposals and equipment selections (pumps, fans, motors, etc.);
- General guidance for mechanical designers on general arrangement drawings;
- Support proposal development, generally review and comment but occasionally as an author;
- Ensure technical compliance with customer specifications;
- Responsible for GEA process system performance warranties;
- Complete plant audits to support new opportunities;
- Visit and meet with customers, usually in support of GEA regional sales managers;
- Build and maintain relationships with GEA customers, promote GEA within your network;
- Confirmation and revision of sales activities above, as needed;
- Create the piping and instrumentation diagram (P&) and maintain throughout the project lifecycle;
- Create, review, and/or approve various lists (equipment, connection point, utilities, valves, instruments);
- Write parts of the control system functional description and the O&M manual;
- Approver of general arrangement plot plan and elevation view drawings;
- Subject matter expert for all things related to the process, e.g. support project manager in procurement;
- Contribute during internal GEA meetings as well as external customer meetings;
- Support safety related evaluations such as Hazop meetings;
- Startup/Commissioning of GEA plants – generally each process engineer starts up their own plants;
- Training customer process and operations personnel on GEA process systems; and ongoing customer troubleshooting support.
20%-30% Domestic travel requirement.
Your profile and qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (foreign equivalent) and 36 months of experience in the job offered or related field, and the following experience: industry process engineering experience; fluid dynamics and thermodynamics; reading and interpreting technical specifications and drawings; and MS Office products.
- Alternative Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (foreign equivalent) and 12 months of experience in the job offered or related field, and the following experience: industry process engineering; fluid dynamics and thermodynamics; reading and interpreting technical specifications and drawings; and MS Office products. - Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
