Primary Purpose

The Quantitative Engineer will lead initiatives on developing quantitative methodologies and providing quantitative analysis to support engineering studies, plans, calculations, evaluations, design documents, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, and budgets associated with Exelon Utilities' overall strategic plans and initiatives. The Quantitative Engineer will develop and maintain quantitative analytical models and methodologies to identify trends and predict outcomes, and provide explanations of the modeling and its results to management and senior leaders.

The person will monitor and respond to business needs by staying abreast of developments in the energy industry and providing analysis/reports to meet those needs. The position may require working extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Primary Duties
  • Lead and perform assignments in specialized areas requiring extensive quantitative analysis, research, and engineering expertise.
  • Lead and perform tasks associated with critical or analytical engineering projects, developing and maintaining quantitative analytical models and methodologies to identify trends and predict outcomes, and providing explanations of the modeling and its results to management and senior leaders.
  • Evaluate, develop, implement, and lead strategic and engineering projects that have significant financial and operational impact by applying quantitative analysis.
  • Participate in department planning, provide budget recommendations, and monitor performance for the accomplishment of committed results.
  • Perform assignments while acting independently and may lead multi-discipline teams.
  • Serve as an expert in the quantitative engineering area.
  • Act as an expert witness or provide expert opinions as required.
  • Provide recommendations and implement action plans to improve performance and cost effectiveness.
  • Provide training and/or guidance to others.
  • Participate in technical and industry societies and committees to enhance knowledge of new technologies or issues in areas of company interest.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate degree (MS or above) or graduate-level work in a quantitative discipline (e.g., electrical engineering, industrial engineering, statistics, operations research, economics, computer science, data analytics, mathematics, physics, etc.).
