About the RoleWe are seeking an Engineering Intern to join our Data Center Engineering Team for the Summer season. Our team is responsible for the design and development of Hot Aisle Containment Systems, Structural Ceilings, Liquid Cooling Manifolds, and Modular Systems which are deployed in data centers worldwide.
This opportunity offers experience in a fast-paced engineering environment with in-house manufacturing. The intern will spend the summer learning about Tate’s products and processes and then apply this knowledge through a concept-to-product development project. The experience will culminate in a final presentation to our executives and potentially a full-scale production of their work.
What You’ll Do- Work closely with design engineers on new product concepts using materials such as extruded aluminum, structural steel, and polycarbonate with numerous in-house manufacturing techniques.
- Design using 3D CAD (Onshape), 3D rapid prototyping, and first article testing.
- Help to maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and quality procedure documentation.
- Working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Relevant coursework in Mechanical Design, 3D modeling, manufacturing, and electrical service integrations.
- Experience with OnShape, Solid Works and/or AutoCAD, Creo, etc.
- Working knowledge of technical drawing standards and practices.
- Expertise with electrical components such as circuit breakers, wiring and power distribution a plus.
- Knowledge of BIM modeling and Revit a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and interface with sales, customer service, purchasing, manufacturing, engineering, quality, and marketing.
- Pay rate: $23 USD per hour.
