Mechanical Packaging Engineer
We are seeking a Mechanical Packaging Engineer to design, provide production support, and test electrical and electronic systems. The role involves designing lightweight electrical assemblies in space-constrained enclosures that must function reliably in high-demand environments.
Responsibilities- Design lightweight electrical assemblies for high-reliability environments.
- Perform structural and thermal analysis on designs.
- Collaborate with the electrical engineering department to define mechanical design requirements and develop packaging design concepts.
- Create detailed drawing layouts for development.
- Partner with manufacturing to ensure designs meet company standards and capabilities.
- Experience in mechanical packaging, electronics, and enclosures.
- Proficiency in mechanical engineering and packaging design.
- Competence in Solid Works, structural analysis, and thermal analysis.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, particularly in aerospace and aviation sectors.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing mechanical packaging for electrical/electronic assemblies.
- Ability to create production-level engineering documentation for a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in integrating and supporting first article builds in a manufacturing environment.
The role is based in an engineering and lab environment, adhering to a 9-80 work schedule. You will be part of a team working on innovative projects, including the design of airships used for persistent surveillance.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Columbia, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
