Avionics And Weapons Systems Engineer Duties
You will perform research, development, and life-cycle support for avionics and weapons systems slated for or installed on advanced naval tactical aircraft.
You will perform professional scientific work involved with the scientific aspects in the development and application of mathematical theories, methods and operations in research and engineering, test and evaluation and logistics functions.
You will deliver optimized technical solutions that are balanced to achieve required technical performance within cost, schedule and technology constraints.
You will identify and solve a wide variety of complex problems with many competing objectives, variables and constraints.
You will function as a project lead, program manager, team lead or member of an integrated team/group providing technical guidance to a technical workforce and meeting customer requirements for products and/or services.
You will participate in developing technical processes and compliance reviews to ensure alignment of technical products and associated open architecture standards.
You will participate in the FACE Consortium Technical Working Group (TWG) to support the consortium members in advancing the FACE technical objectives.
You will provide technical contributions for tooling development including FACE data model plug-ins (using Magic Draw, Eclipse, EA, and Rhapsody), and conformance testing tooling (IDL generator, data model verification and the conformance test suite).
You will serve as a technical reviewer and provide sound engineering, recommendations, and solutions to key stakeholders for the Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) adoption on avionics platforms.
You will contribute to technical briefs for the OUSD (R and
E) Modular Open Systems Working Group (MOSWG), including its Director and 150+ DoD, government, industry, and academia members, to promote the advancement achieved in support of OA adoption.
You will support development of Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) supporting artifacts to promote and accelerate Open Architecture (OA) implementation on avionics systems.
You will maintain OA modular system development, Test and Evaluation, Verification and Validation environment on RDT and E network to support and enable the transition and integration of OA products for avionics deployment.
You will guide ESDP engineers/scientists conducting research on promoting interoperability between OA standards.
