Accounts Payable Specialist

GeBBS Consulting is a healthcare technology professional services and consulting firm based in Towson, Maryland servicing clients throughout the US. We are celebrating our 28th year in business. We have two divisions:
1) Hospital / Provider Practice
2) Managed Care / Payer Practice – we work directly with health plans (very strong in the Blue Cross Blue Shield space). GeBBS Consulting has over two decades of experience supporting healthcare clients throughout the US.

Our client is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to provide backfill support and assist with year‑end close activities, handling end‑to‑end AP operations. The role includes high‑volume invoice processing in Oracle v12, managing purchase orders and three‑way matching in Ariba, reconciling statements in December, and resolving inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal teams. The specialist will support vendor setup and maintenance, process ACH and check payments, manage open AP aging, and assist with unclaimed property.

Heavy support is required in January for 1099 processing, including collecting W‑9s, validating Tax IDs with the IRS, generating and managing a high volume of tax forms, and responding to phone and email inquiries, with onsite presence needed to support returned 1099s.

Hybrid, 3 days onsite in Columbia, MD.

• 2+ years of experience in full cycle Accounts Payable processing (vendor setup and maintenance, high‑volume invoice processing against purchase orders and general ledger accounts, and issuing payments via ACH and checks, open AP aging, tax documentation by collecting W9s, and validating tax IDs with IRS.)
• Experience with MS Excel (basic to intermediate level, from data entry, sorting, filtering and common formulas: SUM, SUMIF, SUMIFS, Pivot, VLOOKUP, etc.)
• Experience communicating with vendors/customers to resolve AP issues through email AND phone
• Experience processing 1099 MISC, INT, and NEC, including how to generate corrections.
• Experience with IRS filing requirements to support the correction process.
• Experience with 3‑way matching (resume might only show matching Purchase Orders (PO’s), Receiving Reports (Goods Receipt), and Vendor Invoice (bills from vendors)

• Experience with Oracle iExpense or Ariba
• Experience with Power BI
• Healthcare industry experience
