Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Syntax Talent Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, particularly within the real estate sector, and possess the necessary qualifications and expertise to oversee financial operations and ensure compliance with industry standards.

• Manage and oversee all aspects of the accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Implement and maintain effective financial controls and procedures.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee partnership taxation and multi-tier structures within the real estate domain.
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query) to analyze financial data.
• Leverage ERP and real estate accounting systems to optimize financial operations.
• Collaborate with various departments to support business growth and strategic initiatives.
• Provide sound judgment and accountability in all financial decision-making processes.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience in real estate.
• Extensive experience with partnership taxation and multi-tier structures.
• Strong understanding of real estate accounting
• Proven supervisory experience with a track record of leading teams toward success.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP and real estate accounting systems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to make informed decisions with accountability.
