Enterprise is a national nonprofit that exists to make a good home possible for the millions of families without one. We support community development organizations on the ground, aggregate and invest capital for impact, advance housing policy at every level of government, and build and manage communities ourselves. Since 1982, we have invested $92.0 billion and created 1.1 million homes across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands – all to make home and community places of pride, power and belonging.

Job Description Summary

As Enterprise continues to grow in size and complexity, so does the need for stronger financial discipline, transparency, and decision support. We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Finance team. This newly created role will serve as the central point of accountability for enterprise-wide expense management, governance, and forecasting. The Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in strengthening financial controls, standardizing processes, and providing forward‑looking insights that enable leadership to make informed, strategic decisions.

The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, sound judgment, and the ability to influence stakeholders across a complex, matrixed organization. This role requires balancing financial rigor with partnership, ensuring that spending decisions align with Enterprise priorities while enabling business success.

Responsibilities
  • Expense Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development and ongoing management of enterprise‑wide operating expense budgets and forecasts. Ensure projections are accurate, forward‑looking, and aligned with strategic priorities, while proactively identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Expense Governance & Controls: Establish and enforce standards for discretionary spending, financial policies, and expense governance. Drive consistency across the organization and ensure compliance with established Finance guidelines.
  • Expense Analysis & Variance Management: Deliver timely and high‑quality expense reporting, including variance analysis and performance insights. Partner with cost center leaders to explain trends, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investment & Productivity Evaluation: Evaluate business cases for headcount, discretionary spending, and strategic investments. Apply financial rigor, benchmarking, and productivity metrics to assess return on investment and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Cross‑Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with division leaders, cost center managers, IT, Procurement, Legal, and Finance leadership to support decision‑making, strengthen accountability, and improve cost discipline across the enterprise.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, expense management, or cost governance.
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills.
  • Experience influencing stakeholders and supporting enterprise decision‑making.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems experience.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
