Chesapeake Search Partners has partnered with a growing national non-profit organization seeking an experienced Assistant Director, FP&A to join its Corporate Finance team. This is a highly visible role responsible for providing financial analysis, evaluating business performance, and supporting capital allocation decisions that drive long-term growth and strategic initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, and strategic decision support, with the ability to influence senior leadership through data-driven insights and financial modeling.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze company-wide financial performance, identify key trends and business drivers, and provide actionable recommendations to executive leadership.
- Evaluate business models, growth initiatives, and strategic opportunities, assessing their impact on profitability, scalability, and long-term financial performance.
- Develop and enhance capital allocation frameworks, including return on net assets (RONA) and risk-adjusted return methodologies, to improve investment decisions and capital efficiency.
- Lead financial analysis for complex business cases, capital investments, and strategic initiatives, providing thoughtful financial and risk assessments.
- Partner closely with Finance, Operations, and executive leadership to develop financial assumptions, evaluate strategic alternatives, and support enterprise-wide decision-making.
- Build financial models and forecasting tools to improve planning accuracy and support long-range strategic planning.
- Present financial analyses and recommendations clearly and effectively to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Corporate Finance, or Corporate Strategy.
- Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, capital allocation, and performance analysis.
- Experience evaluating business performance and supporting strategic investment decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership through analytical insights and sound financial recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial planning/reporting systems.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
