Job Overview

Jensen Hughes is seeking a Sr. Project Financial Analyst to join our Project Finance organization.

This role partners closely with Project Managers and Operations Leaders to support the financial performance of a portfolio of projects throughout the project lifecycle.

The Sr. Project Financial Analyst serves as a trusted business partner responsible for project financial management, revenue recognition, billing, collections, forecasting, andmonth-end close activities. This role also provides exposure to leadership, business partnering, and process improvement opportunities, making it an ideal position for candidates interested in future growth within Project Finance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Project Managers to support the financial performance of assigned projects.
  • Review contracts and ensure proper project setup, including revenue recognition, billing, and delivery requirements.
  • Manage project financial metrics, including revenue, margin, backlog, unbilled accounts, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable.
  • Ensureaccuraterevenue recognition, invoicing, and collections in accordance with contractual terms and company policies.
  • Support month-end close activities, including financial review, reporting, and analysis.
  • Analyze project performance andidentifyfinancial risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assistin preparing and delivering financial reviews with Project Managers and Operations leadership.
  • Proactively work with stakeholders to resolve aging unbilled balances,accounts receivable issues, and other financial challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Contracts, Accounting, and Tax, to support project and business objectives.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and help implement scalable solutions to enhance efficiency and financial controls.
  • Support departmental initiatives, audits, special projects, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, knowledge sharing, and development of best practices within the Project Finance organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in project accounting, finance, auditing, revenue analysis, or similar roles.
  • Understandingofrevenue recognition and project-based financial management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial results and recommend actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with project and operational stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
