Chesapeake Search Partners has partnered with a well-established organization with a significant national presence in their search for a Senior Financial Analyst to join their Corporate Finance team. This newly created position will play an important role in strengthening financial planning, expense management, governance, and decision support across the organization.
This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys working beyond traditional reporting and analysis. The Senior Financial Analyst will partner with business leaders to understand financial performance, identify trends and opportunities, improve expense discipline, and support informed business decisions.
Position Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst will have a hybrid work schedule and responsibility for expense budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis, financial reporting, expense governance, and business-case analysis. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across a complex organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead operating expense budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Analyze financial performance, trends, and variances and communicate key findings to leadership.
- Partner with business and cost center leaders to understand financial results, identify root causes, and develop recommendations.
- Support expense management and financial governance initiatives, including monitoring adherence to established policies and guidelines.
- Evaluate proposed expenditures, headcount requests, and other business investments.
- Develop financial analyses and models to support business decisions and resource allocation.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, reporting, and financial discipline.
- Collaborate with Finance and cross-functional business partners to improve financial visibility and accountability.
- Prepare reporting and presentations for Finance and business leadership.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and decision support as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, expense management, or corporate finance.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with and influence business stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- MBA, CPA, CFA, or other advanced certification is a plus.
