Viral Pathogenesis Technician Support - IV

Cape Fox subsidiary Eagle Health, LLC is accepting resumes for a Viral Pathogenesis Technician Support - IV to support the members rick, Maryland. This position is contingent upon contract award.

The salary range for this exempt position is $75,000 - $84,000
. The above range is an estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. We offer benefits including holidays, paid time off, health, dental, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, and a 401K with company match. The job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.

Responsibilities:
  • Support 2-3 Non-human Primate and/or swine studies, including preparing study materials, virus preparation, animal observation, sample collection and processing, and performing clinical assays such as CBC, chemistries, and coagulation tests.
  • Support 15-20 rodent studies annually, including inoculations, observations, tissue collection, and bleedings.
  • Conduct in vitro testing of vaccines and therapeutic compounds against viruses, using 200-300 plates/assays per month.
  • Prepare study materials, including cell culture media, labeling, and paperwork.
  • Perform immunological assays such as ELISA and Western Blot, potentially conducting around 200 assays per month.
  • Carry out cell culture, plaque assays, PRNT, PCR, and other assays supporting NHP, swine, and rodent studies, handling approximately 750 plates/assays monthly.
  • Serve as a mentor for BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 laboratories.
  • Manage laboratory supplies, including assessing stock levels, ordering, and inventory management in BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 settings.
  • Assist with annual equipment inventory and general lab maintenance, including inspections and containment space duties.
  • Provide weekly technical reports to the TPOC.
  • Travel may be required (10-25%) to support studies and scientific presentations.
  • Ensure enrollment and compliance with CS-PRP and BPRP regulations.
  • Job Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree or higher.
    • Ability to work under deadlines, handle stress, and deliver professional results.
    • Availability for long hours and weekends as needed.
    • Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
    • Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Authorization to work in the U.S. and U.S. citizenship are required.
    • Some travel may be necessary.
