Coding Auditor Educator

• Conduct audits on documentation, coding, and billing practices, providing detailed reports and educational materials
• Develop audit summary spreadsheets to analyze coding accuracy and financial impacts
• Validate coding systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
• Monitor inpatient case mix reports to identify trends and variations in DRG/APC assignments
• Train and mentor new staff in coding practices and compliance guidelines

• High school diploma or GED
• Certification from AAPC or AHIMA, such as RHIT, CCS, CPC, COC, or CPMA
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospital or physician coding and/or auditing
• In-depth knowledge of ICD CM, ICD PCS, and CPT/HCPCS coding systems
• Strong analytical and communication skills

• Associate's Degree
• 3 years of experience with claims processing and data management
• Background in auditing and education/training in coding and reimbursement
