DevOps Lead; Copado

Employment Type: Full-time, W2 position with Cogent People Inc. This is a direct hire position with full benefits.

Location: Hybrid (Columbia, MD - 2 days onsite per week) OR Remote (as applicable to role).

Cogent People Inc. is seeking a Dev Ops Lead (Copado) to support detailed requirements elicitation, documentation, and validation for projects workflows, data structures, and user interactions.

This role works with stakeholders and Agile teams to refine user stories, ensure alignment with CMS processes, and support testing and user acceptance. The position contributes to continuous improvement by identifying gaps in workflow execution, data quality, and user experience.

The Dev Ops Lead leads Dev Sec Ops  implementation using Copado to enable automated, secure CI/CD pipelines and controlled release promotion across Salesforce environments. Ensures configuration management, test automation gating, and deployment traceability aligned with CMS security and compliance requirements. Integrates continuous validation, monitoring, and release governance into all delivery activities.

This role is responsible for strategy, execution, delivery, leadership, ensuring alignment with business goals, user needs, and technical requirements.

• Support detailed requirements elicitation, documentation, and validation for MESH workflows, data structures, and user interactions.
• Work with stakeholders and Agile teams to refine user stories.
• Ensure alignment with CMS processes.
• Support testing and user acceptance.
• Lead Dev Sec Ops  implementation using Copado to enable automated, secure CI/CD pipelines and controlled release promotion across Salesforce environments.
• Ensure configuration management, test automation gating, and deployment traceability aligned with CMS security and compliance requirements.
• Integrate continuous validation, monitoring, and release governance into all delivery activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying gaps in workflow execution, data quality, and user experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in Dev Ops, Salesforce delivery, or related technical leadership roles.
• Demonstrated experience leading Dev Sec Ops  implementations using Copado.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and Dev Sec Ops  practices.
• Experience working in CMS, federal, healthcare, regulated, or enterprise environments (if applicable).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage priorities and work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., Copado, Salesforce Dev Ops, Dev Sec Ops ‑related certifications).
• Experience with CMS or federal government programs.
• Deep hands‑on expertise with Copado deployments and release governance.
• Familiarity with compliance‑driven CI/CD and audit‑ready deployment pipelines.
• Additional experience in enterprise Salesforce architecture or Dev Sec Ops  transformation initiatives.
