Job Overview
ISSE / ISSO – multiple levels – fully cleared with polygraph required. Locations:
Columbia, MD;
Annapolis Junction, MD;
Fort Meade, MD;
Hanover, MD;
Laurel, MD. Open to candidates with US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance and polygraph.
- TS/SCI clearance with active polygraph required.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Level‑dependent experience: Level 04 – minimum 15 years; Level 03 – minimum 12 years; Level 02 – minimum 9 years; Level 01 – minimum 6 years of experience directly related to Information Systems Security Engineering/Operations within the last 5 years.
- High School Diploma minimum.
- DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level I or higher.
- Experience as an ISSO/ISSE with emphasis on Defense‑in‑Depth principles, network, and enterprise security architecture.
- Application of NIST SP 800‑53 and RMF procedures.
- Familiarity with STE/STN requirements.
- Knowledge of current security tools, hardware/software security implementation, communication protocols, and encryption techniques/tools.
- Experience completing security evaluations of software systems or architectures to ensure security requirements are met.
- Experience preparing and maintaining SSPs and other security documentation.
- Experience proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies, preferably on a large software or IT program.
- Experience performing day‑to‑day security operations of large, complex information systems.
- Optional:
DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level 2 or 3. - Optional: ISSEP, CISSP certifications.
- Ability to maintain appropriate operational security posture.
- Support continuous monitoring, audit, and remediation of security non‑compliance, vulnerabilities, and risks.
- Assist the information systems security manager in preparing the system for periodic reaccreditation.
Pay range: $85,000 – $270,000 per year, depending on level and qualifications. The range is a general guideline and not a guarantee.
