Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI, must be willing to take a CI Poly in the future.
- Integrate emerging sensors and platforms into existing Maven or G data workflows during their experimentation/pre-IOC phase, developing pipelines and data structures to incorporate new sensor sources.
- Conduct assessments of potential differences between new sensor characteristics and currently utilized platforms, including metadata, data format, and data structure changes that may affect databases, schemas, APIs, and ETL processes.
- Determine acquisition methods, latency, data formats, and security domains for new data.
- Pre‑process and standardize data to match existing standards or transform it into a usable state for labeling and model development, including file‑format conversion or tiling of full‑size images.
- Investigate gaps in emerging sensor capability that may need supplementation by other sources, collaborating with SAR Imagery Scientists to provide coincident EO imagery aligned with temporal and geographic windows.
- Develop and implement mathematical conversion models to transform labels between imagery types (e.g., PNG, NITF) and between orthorectified and non‑orthorectified imagery.
- Develop methods for tiling and pre‑processing full‑size raw imagery into specified sizes and formats while maintaining metadata integrity and geospatial accuracy.
- Analyze image quality and sensor metadata to recommend and curate imagery acquisition in alignment with Government‑directed priorities, using NIIRS and other image‑quality metrics.
- Execute day‑to‑day management of imagery curation, acquisition, and pre‑processing, including image tiling, file‑type conversion, and generation of pre‑labels derived from intelligence reporting, machine‑derived observations, human observations, or other methods that identify geospatial location and object classification.
- Provide EO imagery coincident with SAR‑delivered imagery within specified geographic and temporal ranges.
- Identify methods to curate imagery per Government‑directed prioritization, including using NLP to extract information from intelligence reporting, developing automated or semi‑automated machine‑based technologies, and connecting to intelligence repositories via APIs.
- Monitor and prioritize data holdings to support data diversity needs defined by the Government (different geographic regions, temporal windows, metadata characteristics, scene characteristics, and image sensor platforms).
- Oversee weekly deliveries of processed imagery and conduct ad‑hoc deliveries as needed for quick‑turn operations support.
- 4+ years as an EO expert with an understanding of collection, phenomenology, image formation processes, and exploitation products.
- Experience exploiting the electromagnetic spectrum (e.g., electro‑optical) to determine the occurrence and location of objects of interest.
- Experience developing, testing, and evaluating new algorithms, processes, methodologies, and products using EO imagery, including advanced processing tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Google Earth Engine) to automate scientific processes of EO imagery data for analysis.
- Experience communicating with technical and non‑technical audiences about the availability and capabilities of EO imagery products, methodologies, procedures, and algorithms.
- Deep understanding of remote‑sensing principles, imagery processing, and advanced exploitation methods.
- Experience applying computer vision and machine‑learning techniques to EO imagery and data to address intelligence problems.
$210,000 to $230,000
