Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a Business Application / ERP Administrator to serve as the technical owner of our Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains environment and related business application integrations. This role supports key business systems across finance, supply chain, operations, IT, and external partner platforms. In this position, you will help ensure the reliability, security, integrity, and compliance of ERP data and processes.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to translate business needs into stable, auditable, and well-controlled system solutions.
- Maintain Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains security, including user access, permissions, audits, quotas, and security controls
- Apply sound judgment and knowledge of IT, accounting, audit, and data security standards to protect system integrity and support business workflow needs
- Create, maintain, and troubleshoot workflows, stored procedures, scheduled reports, and real-time reports
- Maintain SQL Server environments, including testing and applying patches, upgrades, and new releases in a timely manner
- Provide user support and training for business application systems
- Support the research, beta testing, implementation, installation, and upgrade of system enhancements and third‑party applications
- Perform and validate master data updates, including item attributes, tariff/HTS fields, credit limits, pricing data, and related business data
- Investigate and resolve data inconsistencies, system defects, reporting issues, and integration errors
- Support SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, and future reporting platforms, including updates, code changes, report publishing, validation, and user support
- Develop and maintain documentation for end‑user processes and IT system management procedures
- Maintain database systems in accordance with industry standards for data integrity, data security, and compliance
- Observe user processes, respond to user needs, and proactively identify opportunities for system and process improvement
- Participate in company‑wide business process reviews to support smoother operations, automation opportunities, and improved technology solutions
- A degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience administering, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains
- Strong experience with SQL, including T‑SQL
