PositionCloud Platform Engineer with experience in Cloud technology (AWS), Go programming, and a strong Linux foundation. Contributes to the development of custom software components and integration of open-source code to address complex problems using Big Data / Cloud technology. The candidate will work autonomously, identify and solve problems quickly, and help achieve broader strategic goals set by Architects on the team.
Work is in a hybrid environment with a collaborative team.

Security ClearanceDue to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position-appropriate security clearance is required (e.g., Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency-appropriate polygraph).
Capabilities- The ideal candidate is a strong systems integrator with an eye for opportunity to enhance, optimize, or increase robustness of an existing code base.
- Experience with infrastructure as code and the ability to leverage modern tools to define, build and manage virtual infrastructure in the cloud.
- Design and implement core architecture and capabilities for software from prototype to operational applications.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Security Clearance - A current U.S. Government Security clearance is not required at start, but will be processed for a Secret level clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- 9+ years of experience in Platform Engineering or Software Development (Go) with a related Bachelors degree; OR 7 years relevant experience with a Masters; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 1-2 days per week at our Columbia, MD office. Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes as needed.
- Experience developing and deploying infrastructure in AWS.
- Experience with Kubernetes (or vendor flavor), Ansible, storage layers (Ceph, Rook, Longhorn, etc.).
- Programming skills in Go.
- Solid understanding of Linux systems, hosts, networks, security, applications and proficiency in shell scripting (Shell/Bash).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Prior experience with or familiarity with DISA’s Big Data Platform or other Big Data systems (e.g., Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Gitlab-CI, Travis-CI, Jenkins).
- Understanding of agile software development methodologies and standard tool suites (JIRA, Confluence, Git Hub, Git Lab).
- Experience with puppet, Ansible, Maven, virtualization (OVirt, Proxmox, VMware).
- DoD 8140 / 8570 IAT Level II compliance certifications may be required as directed by the customer.
