Position: Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester (V&V Execution)-Junior

Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester (V&V Execution)-Junior

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester (V&V Execution)-Junior to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. The salary range of this position is $62,000.00 - $87,000.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

A typical day as a Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester (V&V Execution)-Junior may include:

  • Trains/Learns to test software for an advanced synthetic training environment
  • Learns and becomes proficient integrating software into flight simulators to system test
  • Supports software development/integration, testing, customer training and demonstrations
  • Learns and becomes proficient installing and running regression tests on new software builds (multiple builds weekly)
  • Becomes knowledgeable and proficient in testing a variety of Jira issues (new feature implementation, bug fixes, database queries, etc.)
  • Documents test results and learns to update issues in Jira
  • Learns and becomes proficient creating new test procedure documents to validate new requirements
  • Uses effective communication across a large team to verify correct procedures and software issue diagnosis
  • Becomes proficient running extensive regression tests when software reaches Release Candidate (RC) phase

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data Analytics or Engineering OR HS Diploma/Equivalent with 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Degree obtained from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
  • Experience as a lead, supervisor or manager
  • Experience working in a military environment
  • The ability to learn to operate multiple computer stations that support the Joint Simulation Environment
  • The ability to be proactive and learn to perform system tests to identify software/hardware deficiencies to verify compliance with system requirements
  • The ability to document and work through issues
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products
  • The ability to support a flexible schedule, including occasional weekend and evening testing (approximately once per month subject to mission needs)-Schedule changes will be communicated with at least one (1) week's advance notice whenever possible
  • The ability to obtain and maintain Clearance in accordance with 5205.07
  • AMEWAS willing to obtain and process full clearance-The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Physical Environment and

Working Conditions:

The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
