Job Summary

JCS Solutions is seeking a Data Center Engineer to support mission‑critical enterprise infrastructure operations at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. The successful candidate will be responsible for the deployment, administration, monitoring, maintenance, and security of complex data center and network environments supporting Department of Defense missions. The ideal candidate possesses experience with Cisco networking technologies, F5 load balancers, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), TACLANE encryption devices, enterprise monitoring solutions, and network security best practices.

This position serves as a key technical resource responsible for maintaining highly available, secure, and resilient communications infrastructure while coordinating with DISA, the 26th Network Operations Squadron (26 NOS), and other mission partners to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.

What you will do
  • Manage, deploy, configure, and maintain core data center hardware, including switches, routers, and high‑performance server network interfaces.
  • Configure and administer Cisco Nexus Series switches within an enterprise data center environment.
  • Maintain comprehensive physical infrastructure documentation, including detailed rack layouts, port maps, cable management records, and asset tracking databases.
  • Manage enterprise network systems utilizing Cisco Catalyst Center (formerly Cisco DNA Center) for network automation and management.
  • Administer Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) to support policy enforcement, device profiling, authentication, and automated network access control.
  • Configure, manage, and maintain F5 Load Balancers (LTM/GTM) to ensure application availability, scalability, and performance.
  • Administer RSA Authentication Manager to support multi‑factor authentication (MFA) across secure network environments.
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and environmental health using Cacti and other SNMP‑based monitoring and telemetry tools.
  • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot multicast‑based Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) platforms operating across the enterprise LAN.
  • Install, key, configure, and support TACLANE devices (e.g., KG‑175D, KGV‑72) and other High‑Assurance IP Encryptors (HAIPEs) to secure sensitive data‑in‑transit across classified and unclassified networks.
  • Implement and enforce physical and logical cybersecurity measures to safeguard critical infrastructure, databases, and network boundaries in accordance with DoD regulations.
  • Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for data center operations, ensuring compliance with military directives, safety requirements, and environmental protocols.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for higher‑level support organizations, including the 26th Network Operations Squadron (26 NOS) and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), ensuring rapid coordination and resolution during outages or degraded network performance events.
  • Draft, coordinate, and process Authorized Service Interruptions (ASIs), ensuring proper risk mitigation, stakeholder communication, and operational continuity.
  • Analyze and resolve network, infrastructure, and systems‑related issues to maintain operational continuity and mission effectiveness.
  • Support infrastructure modernization initiatives, system upgrades, maintenance activities, and configuration management efforts.
