Position Summary:We are looking for a DCS Estimator to support existing and upcoming work in Northern Virginia. The estimator is responsible for site walks and generation of BoMs, Labor Estimates, and SOW documentation. This role will be based out of our office in Columbia, and will require site visits to No
VA a few times per month. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Technical advisor for our sales team and clients
- Conduct client needs analyses
- Generate detailed and accurate Bill of Materials (PNL)
- Generate detailed and accurate labor estimates (PNL)
- Generate detailed statements of work (SOW) for Data Center RFP’s
- Generate accurate project assumptions, terms & conditions, and exclusions for RFP’s
- Review all RFP documentation pertaining to our division and generate RFI’s as needed
- Design functional Data Center solutions based on our core product offerings and core technical abilities
- Provide technical support for account executives and attend scope reviews
- Attend pre-bid meetings
- Conduct project kickoff meetings to transfer project information to the operations team
Skills:
- Ability to create, read, and understand cabling pull schedules, floor plans, ceiling plans, riser diagrams & line diagrams
- Proficiency in mathematics, statistics and data analysis
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Report writing and strategic planning skills
- Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects
- Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional time management skills
- Strong computer, organizational, communication, and trouble shooting skills
- Strong knowledge of proper rack fabrication & cable terminations
- Experience using Microsoft Office software tools, such as MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word, to be utilized in managing and reporting estimate throughput, status, and labor allocation
- Self-motivated, multitasking skills
- Years of
Experience:
preferred 5+ years of experience in data center environments - College degree or AA preferred
- Excellent PC skills, including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of delivering data center installation projects
- Physical Requirement:
Ability to stand and/or walk job sites
