Buyer I position negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts, and long‑term contracts with suppliers, and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services, and supplies for customer‑related business processes or for internal use. Drives ongoing supplier optimization and continuous improvement. This position reports to the Manager EHS&S and Facilities and will be an on‑site role in Nottingham, MD (part of the Baltimore Distribution Center).
InThis Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To
- Manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders in SAP, including blanket/framework orders; communicate requirements to suppliers, expedite orders, resolve discrepancies, and serve as point of escalation for supplier issues
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels for facility and office supplies; monitor expenditures against budget and control cost, quality, delivery, inventory, and HSE‑related activities
- Apply Danaher Business System (DBS) tools (e.g., Standard Work, Visual Management, Kanban) to ensure sustainable results; communicate order status and lead times to Leadership and internal stakeholders
- High School Diploma or GED with at least 2 years of experience using continuous improvement tools (e.g., Lean, DMAIC, Standard Work)
- Working knowledge of purchasing processes, SAP systems (or similar)
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and demonstrated administrative skills
- Strong sourcing, quoting, and supplier negotiation skills (lead time, MOQ, pricing, packaging, PPV/PPC)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills in a dynamic environment
- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree
- Demonstrated ability to operate within budget and cost frameworks
Pall Corporation, a Danaher company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives. The salary range for this role is $60,000‑$70,000. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. Benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
