The Regional Director of Operations is a senior multi‑site healthcare support services executive responsible for the overall operation, growth, financial performance, and client satisfaction of accounts within an assigned geographic region. The role provides leadership and strategic direction to District Managers / Resident Directors and ensures operational execution aligns with corporate, regulatory, and client goals while maintaining profitability and service excellence.
Responsibilities- Regional Operational Leadership:
- Lead and develop District Managers, Resident Directors, and site leadership teams
- Oversee all assigned hospital accounts within the territory
- Ensure service delivery meets contractual scope and performance KPIs
- Implement regional strategic plans and operational initiatives
- Conduct site visits, audits, and quarterly business reviews
- Support new business start‑ups and account transitions
- Financial / Business Management:
- Review financial statements and weekly operating reports
- Identify and manage capital requirements
- Support sales pricing, renewals, and retention strategy
- Client Relationship Management:
- Maintain executive‑level client relationships across health systems
- Ensure high customer satisfaction to drive account retention
- Serve as escalation point for operational issues
- Coordinate customer surveys and stewardship programs
- Customize programs to meet individual hospital needs
- Compliance / Quality:
- Ensure compliance with:
- Contract provisions
- Corporate policy
- Regulatory agencies (e.g., TJC, CMS, OSHA depending on service line)
- Ensure completion of QA reporting and operational metrics
- Maintain safety, engagement, and service quality standards
- Strategic Leadership:
- Participate in regional strategic planning
- Anticipate market trends and growth opportunities
- Support retention and expansion initiatives
- Drive culture, engagement, and leadership development across sites
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years progressive multi‑unit leadership experience
- Experience with:
- Budgeting & forecasting
- Contract management
- Client‑facing service environments
- Multi‑site operations
- Strong financial, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to travel extensively within assigned region
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Acute care hospital experience
- P&L ownership
- Contract‑managed service experience
- CHFM or related certification (Facilities track)
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory environment
