The Plant Manager directs Production/Manufacturing, Wrapping, Shipping, Transportation, Sanitation, Engineering and Human Resources.
As the Plant Manager you will:
- Head up all plant operations to ensure profit goals.
- Ensure product quality and adherence to all applicable standards (FDA, QBA, OSHA, A.I.B, etc.).
- Oversee relations between departments to ensure alignment, teamwork and productivity.
- Evaluate each department’s operating budgets and prepare an overall presentation to the owner of the company’s operating budget.
- Partner with the plant HR Manager to ensure the execution of the company’s human resources and labor relations policies, procedures, and programs.
- Direct the activities of ordering, shipping and transportation to ensure customer needs are met.
- Maintain excellent employee engagement in all phases of the operation.
- Ensure a safe working environment for all employees/contractors.
- Participates in the development, implementation and enforcement of safety programs.
- Participate in accident investigations.
- Maintain membership of Safety committee.
- Ensure all plant personnel maintain cleanliness of the work area.
- Ensure proper G. M. P.’s are followed at all times.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of progressive experience in food manufacturing.
- 5-7 years of experience as a Plant Manager and senior leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry training.
- Experience in fast-paced, automated environments - food production, packaging and distribution.
- Completion of a management skills training program; and AMA Management Skills course.
- Bring an inspiring and empowering leadership style focused on developing, elevating and advancing high-performing teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Physically capable of moving to all areas of the plant, company facilities, community facilities and customer locations.
- Perform physical activities such as reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing and pulling as required in a production operation.
- Evaluate product and determine adherence to quality control standards including size, shape, color, cut, etc.
- Effectively review written communication, blueprints, schematics, etc.
- Utilize office equipment.
- Research, develop, implement and monitor required policies and procedures.
