Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center cares for a range of patients with severe health conditions. Our hospital has a highly specialized community-based Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and (SCU) dedicated to adult patients requiring intensive monitoring and care after surgery or due to medical conditions, including cardiac care.
As a Registered Nurse in the Special Care Unit (SCU), you will be privileged to care for lower acuity ICU Stepdown patients on drips with complex medical and surgical problems.
Darlene Norton serves as the Nurse Manager, with a demonstrated track record of effective leadership. Darlene began her career at Johns Hopkins Hospital as a PCT prior to completing nursing school and then working as a nurse in the CCU. In a short span, she showcased her capabilities, earning promotions to Lead Clinical RN and Assistant Nurse Manager in 2019. Her journey continued when she later transferred to HCMC.
Darlene is not only a proficient leader but also a mentor who actively supports the professional growth of RNs. She oversees three vital units:

Qualifications:
* Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) (Required),
* Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) (Preferred) and
* Applicants with an associate degree in nursing will be considered. Per nursing guidelines, must matriculate into a Bachelor of Nursing program.
* RN - Registered Nurse License (Required)
* CPR - Basic CPR (Required)
* Minimum six (6) months of nursing experience (Required)
* 1 year of nursing experience (Preferred)
* 1 year of Telemetry, Stepdown, IMCU or Critical experience (Preferred)

Salary Range:
Minimum 37.13/hour - Maximum 57.87/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
