Forensic Nurse Examiner
The Registered Nurse - Forensic Nurse Examiner (RN‑FNE) participates as a member of the Sexual Assault Forensic Nurse Examiner (SAFE) program, providing victims of sexual assault and intimate partner violence with sensitive, coordinated, and patient‑centered care. The RN‑FNE provides the forensic medical exam in all cases of sexual assault and intimate partner violence as requested by victim or law enforcement, and provides emergency and prophylactic care and information regarding proper medical follow‑up for reported and non‑reported cases of sexual assault and intimate partner violence that present at Howard County Medical Center.
Qualifications:- Associate’s Degree in nursing (ADN) (Required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (Preferred) and
- Applicants with an associate degree in nursing will be considered. Per nursing guidelines, must matriculate into a Bachelor of Nursing program.
- RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire (Required)
- Current FNE‑A certification through MBON; FNE‑A/P preferred
- CPR – Basic CPR Upon Hire (Required)2+ years of RN experience as a SAFE Nurse strongly preferred

Minimum /hour – Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
