Data And Research Assistant
The data and research assistant coordinates data collection and evaluation efforts for Howard County Office of Children and Families programs and services. This position will review and analyze existing program evaluations, data sharing agreements and performance measures across programs of the Office of Children and Families. This work involves compiling qualitative and quantitative data and analyzing data from a variety of sources.
This position will produce data visualizations, develop comprehensive data dashboards, and other written reports. This position will conduct research on topics related to early childhood. This position is designated as a contingent position for temporary use only and is not a merit position, such as identifying as a classified employee. Continuation of the position shall be subject to available funding, operational need, and approval in accordance with applicable County budgetary, personnel, and position authorization requirements.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Learn and maintain data collection systems.
- Review and analyze early childhood data from various sources to create data standardization plans and prioritize outreach and engagement efforts.
- Create standard performance measures and quality improvement plans.
- Develop surveys.
- Analyze survey data to inform a program evaluation.
- Track/monitor requirements for grants.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis on emerging issues and best practices related to early childhood topics.
- Analyze program evaluation data and develop a standard evaluation.
- Compile research and data for quarterly and annual reporting.
- Assist with grant reports and accreditation preparation for OCF programs.
- Complete all required training and documentation.
- Assist with writing and updating program policies and procedures.
- Provide project management support to teams using data.
- Conduct data inventory of all data systems in use.
- Develop data libraries and data dashboards.
- Support community events and programs of the Office of Children and Families.
Minimum required education/experience includes:
Experience:
1-3 years experience with data collection/analysis, research/evaluation of early childhood programs and services.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Early Childhood Education or related field. Special qualifications: strong research and analysis skills, knowledge of early childhood development, knowledge of current best practices and outcomes related to home visiting, and maternal and child health programs, experience in providing services to culturally diverse communities/families.
