Company Description
Elite Immune, the R&D engine of Reyoung Bio, is building a next-generation biologics discovery organization spanning infectious disease, respiratory disease, and oncology. Our lead RSV prophylactic antibody is currently under NMPA review, while multiple bispecific and multispecific
antibody programs are advancing through IND-enabling and early preclinical stages. With R&D sites
in Tianjin, Shanghai, and Maryland, USA, we operate an integrated US-China discovery, CMC, and
translational research network. Team members collaborate in a science-driven environment with access to advanced discovery technologies and opportunities to translate research into impactful therapies.
Role DescriptionThe Senior / Principal Scientist (Computational Protein Design & Engineering) is a full-time, on-site role based in the Washington DC-Baltimore Area. We are hiring a Senior / Principal Scientist in Computational Protein Design & Engineering to build out our internal computer-aided antibody and protein design capability. The role spans affinity maturation, sequence optimization, humanization, develop ability engineering, de novo binder design, and bispecific/multispecific antibody engineering.
As a core member of the discovery organization, this scientist will translate AI/ML- and structure-guided design into real molecules that can be expressed, tested, optimized, and advanced into the company’s antibody pipeline. The ideal candidate pairs deep knowledge of antibody structure and protein engineering with hands on use of modern structure prediction, generative design, AI/ML, sequence analysis, and
develop ability tools, and can translate designs into executable experimental plans. Experience in
Qualifications- Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Protein Engineering, Structural Biology, Biophysics,
Bioinformatics, Computational Chemistry, Machine Learning, Immunology, or a related field,
with hands-on experience in antibody engineering, protein design, structural modeling, or
- Strong knowledge of antibody structure and engineering, including CDR loops, frameworks,
germline usage, humanization, paratope / epitope interactions, affinity, specificity,
develop ability, and sequence-structure-function relationships.
- Hands-on experience in computational antibody design, computational protein design,
- Proficiency in Python and common scientific computing / data analysis tools; ability to
process sequence, structure, NGS, binding, functional assay, and develop ability data and
build reusable analysis workflows.
- Familiarity with antibody discovery and experimental validation workflows such as phage /
BLI, expression and purification, stability testing, or functional screening.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with wet-lab scientists and translate computational
hypotheses into library designs, mutation plans, construct designs, screening cascades, and
next-round optimization recommendations.
- Strong scientific communication skills in English, with the ability to explain design rationale,
model uncertainty, candidate ranking logic, and experimental validation plans to cross functional teams. Chinese communication capability is a plus for US-China collaboration.
What Eliteimmune Offers- A competitive total compensation package, including base salary, performance bonus, and flexible work-location arrangements.
- A flat and transparent scientific decision-making culture in which teams are organized around programs and technical discussions are grounded in data, quality standards, and testable conclusions.
- A clear growth path: strong performers may progress into leadership roles overseeing broader R&D responsibilities.
- A bench-first working environment—we believe scientific output comes from experimental data and strong teams, not from meetings.
The candidate may be based at one of the following locations. The final arrangement can be discussed flexibly based on personal circumstances, platform build-out needs, and business priorities:
- Tianjin (Binhai New Area) — the company’s China R&D entity, well suited to building internal virology, neutralization, and pseudovirus assay platforms;
- Shanghai (Zhangjiang) — a multi-function site under development, well positioned for US-China collaboration, external partnerships, and coordination with preclinical and CMC teams;
- Maryland, USA (Gaithersburg) — the US R&D center, enabling close collaboration with US-based R&D leadership and access to external virology resources
We are committed to providing equal employment opportunity to all candidates, without distinction based on race, sex, age, religion, nationality, health status, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law.
