Who You Are...You are an accomplished sales executive with a proven track record of leading revenue growth in the cannabinoid, hemp, consumer packaged goods, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, wellness, or related industries. You are commercially minded, customer-focused, and experienced in developing high-performing sales teams and strategic partnerships. You bring excellent communication skills, strong business judgement, and the ability to operate effectively in a regulated and fast-changing market.
As Vice President of Sales, you will be responsible for defining and executing the company’s sales strategy, expanding market presence, strengthening customer relationships, and delivering profitable revenue growth. This position is based in Maryland and requires regular collaboration with executive leadership, manufacturing, operations, marketing, finance, quality, and compliance teams.
Key Responsibilities Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth- Develop and execute wholesale sales strategies across MD, IL, MO, and PA.
- Own sales revenue, gross margin, pricing, promotions, and trade spend.
- Build strong positioning and sales strategies for both brands.
- Monitor market trends, competitors, pricing, inventory, and regulations.
- Build and maintain relationships with major retail groups, dispensaries, and independent accounts.
- Expand brand presence and product distribution across target markets.
- Increase reorders, sales volume, shelf space, and product assortment.
- Hire, train, coach, and manage the sales team.
- Set sales goals, KPIs, and performance expectations.
- Manage CRM reporting, sales pipelines, and incentive/commission programs.
- Work with Operations, Production, and Inventory teams to forecast demand and maintain product availability.
- Partner with Marketing on trade shows, budtender education, retail events, and brand activations.
- Ensure all sales activities and promotions comply with state cannabis regulations.
Skills and Qualifications
- 7+ Years of Senior Sales Leadership:
Demonstrated track record as VP of Sales, - Director of Sales, or Commercial Head within the cannabis wholesale industry, CPG, or
- craft beverage sector.
- Multi-State Platform
Experience:
Hands-on experience driving B2B sales operations - across multiple state markets (prior experience in MD, IL, MO, or PA is strongly preferred).
- Proven Track Record:
Verified history of scaling wholesale revenues from early-stage expansion to market dominance ($20M+ multi-state revenue responsibility preferred). - Deep Retail Network:
Strong existing network of cannabis dispensary buyers, MSO - procurement executives, and retail decision-makers.
- Strategic & Tactical Flexibility:
Ability to set high-level vision while remaining close - enough to the ground to close key accounts directly alongside field reps.
- Analytical Aptitude:
Expert at leveraging data (e.g., Headset, BDSA, Leaf Link - analytics) to identify sell-through velocity trends and guide retail buyers on inventory optimization.
- Communication & Negotiation:
Master negotiator capable of structuring complex wholesale supply contracts, strategic partnership agreements, and vendor-day commitments. - Adaptability:
Thrives in fast-paced, rapidly shifting regulatory environments with a high degree of autonomy. - Must be 21+ years of age and able to pass required state background checks for
- cannabis industry personnel.
- Willingness to travel 30%–50% across Maryland, Illinois, Missouri, and Pennsylvania.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field (MBA is a
- plus).
- Compensation: $ 160,000- $ 220,000
- Bonus Structure:
High-upside executive bonus scheme tied to EBITDA growth, revenue benchmarks, and market expansion targets. - Benefits:
