Public Safety Officer (Security Officer)

The Public Safety Officer is responsible for patrolling the Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center campus via foot, mobile unit or bicycle to protect against illegal activities, theft, fire, vandalism, hazardous conditions, infringements, etc.

Evenings (4pm - 12 midnight), 3:30pm roll call.

Columbia, MD.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or coursework in security, law enforcement, or healthcare-related fields preferred.

• Current certification in use of Corporate Security Services self‑defense equipment.

• One (1) year of security experience in the Public Safety Officer role.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Minimum $17.37/hour - Maximum $28.68/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
