Are you seeking a new and challenging position supporting a complex Program for the Warfighter? Well, look no further! This is an exciting time to contribute to a mission-critical program with lasting impactful results. Leidos is currently looking to add a Signal Software Engineer (SSWE-1) to a growing task. The SSWE will translate system requirements into software requirements, perform software design, and implement software applications and features in an agile environment.
The candidate must have strong Java, JavaScript, and/or C++ skills. The Signals Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances signal processing software (e.g. detectors, demodulators, protocol processors). Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
Clearance Required:
Must have TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications.
- Design, develop, and enhance software to add new features or improve existing functionality.
- Debug and resolve defects in software systems.
- Utilize signal processing techniques and digital modulation methods effectively.
- Develop software using C++ and Java within Linux operating systems.
- Integrate software into new or modified systems, ensuring seamless operation.
- Lead or participate in the development and execution of test procedures for software components.
- Write and review software and system documentation, providing recommendations to improve processes and standards.
- Apply scientific analysis and mathematical models to design software solutions and predict outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with software-defined radio architectures (e.g., SCA, REDHAWK, GNU) and commercial wireless standards.
