Software Engineer Level 2 | Maryland | Full-Time

Overview

What We’re Looking For As a Software Engineer Level 2 at CyberPoint, you will design, develop and maintain software solutions supporting mission‑critical systems. You'll work across the full software development lifecycle—analyzing requirements, building scalable solutions, and ensuring performance and reliability in complex environments.

This role requires strong collaboration with system engineers, hardware engineers, and mission stakeholders to deliver high‑quality software aligned with operational requirements. You'll also play a key role in improving development processes, mentoring team members, and ensuring technical excellence across deliverables.

This position is 100% onsite in Maryland and requires an active TS/SCI+FSP Security Clearance

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
  • Design, develop and modify software systems to meet mission needs.
  • Debug existing software and resolve defects to improve system performance.
  • Integrate existing software into new or evolving systems and environments.
  • Develop and implement algorithms that meet performance and functional requirements.
  • Design and implement complex database queries and data interfaces.
  • Collaborate with system and hardware engineers to define system capabilities and constraints.
  • Develop and execute test procedures to validate software components.
  • Produce and review technical documentation for software and system designs.
  • Monitor system performance and coordinate software installation to ensure operational compliance.
  • Provide recommendations to improve software development processes and documentation standards.
  • Support or lead software development teams and ensure quality and timely delivery of work products.
  • Perform quality control across team deliverables.
Qualifications

What You’ll Need

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Active TS/SCI+FSP Clearance
    .
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university
    • OR Four (4) additional years of Software Engineering experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Eighteen years of experience as a Software Engineer on programs of similar scope and complexity.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Python
    • Bash
    • Java Script
    • React
    • Grafana
  • Experience designing, developing and maintaining complex software systems.
  • Experience with database queries and data repository integration.
  • Ability to work across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Experience collaborating in cross‑functional engineering environments.

  • Strong background in performance optimization and scalable system design.
  • Experience improving software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Ability to translate complex technical requirements into efficient software solutions.
