Software Developer 1 - (Backend, Java, Spring Boot)

Clearance: TS/SCI w/ poly

Position : 20-3-010-SWE1

Location: Columbia, Maryland

This role will be on a fast-moving software engineering team supporting a microservice ecosystem with several UIs. Project management is done using feature-driven development. The team is highly collaborative, and engineers are encouraged to help drive system design. The candidate will be working with mission very closely and interacting with customers daily.

• Develop and maintain Java microservice web applications.
• Work closely with tech lead on technical decisions and product roadmap.
• Resolve challenging software engineering design problems.
• Interact with the customer to resolve issues and propose new features.
• Support testing and deployment of production applications.

• Experience with design, debugging, and problem solving with Java.
• Experience with RESTful web applications.
• Experience with Spring Boot.
• Experience interacting with Mongo
  
  DB or similar database technology.
• Experience with Automated testing.

• Full stack experience including UI development with JavaScript (Vue.js).
• Experience with Kafka.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Linux administration.
• Experience with automated build tools, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.

3 yrs., B.S. in a technical discipline or 4 additional yrs. in place of B.S.

• Salary Range: $163k-$199k (Annually)
• The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

• 24 days PTO accrued annually
