Tenable is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our core product engineering team. You will design, develop, and maintain cloud‑based, state‑of‑the‑art search solutions that scale with our customers’ growing infrastructure landscape. The role focuses on building the scalable, reliable, cloud‑native user interface and underlying microservices that power data ingestion, storage, querying, and retrieval at scale.

• Manage data ingestion, storage, and retrieval processes within the platform, ensuring robustness and efficiency.

• Experience in database performance tuning, schema design, and query optimization within a distributed microservice architecture.
• 8+ years of software development experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong background in distributed, microservice architecture; experience with Java or Kotlin.
• Experience with containerized microservices running on Kubernetes.
• Experience developing core libraries, infrastructure, and search engines.
• Cross‑platform development experience is a plus.
• Accountability for production software behavior.
• Knowledge of operational data stores, Kafka, or similar messaging systems.
• Ability to work independently as well as lead and drive projects within a team.
• Experience coaching and leading engineering teams in an Agile environment.
• Enthusiasm for continuous learning and adoption of new technologies.

US Pay Range: $163,000 – $ USD. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience. Variable compensation is available.
