Position: Principal Geospatial Software Engineer (TS/SCI with Polygraph required)

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Principal Geospatial Software Engineer to join our team in developing cutting‑edge geospatial analysis, ETL, and visualization microservices to support mission‑focused systems. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and performant Java‑based microservices that interact with both relational and No

SQL databases. Your work will contribute to enhancing the capabilities of our geospatial data processing and visualization tools, enabling better decision‑making for mission‑critical applications.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining high‑performance Java microservices with a strong emphasis on geospatial functionality.
  • Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into robust and scalable software solutions.
  • Leading the technical design and implementation of geospatial features, ensuring alignment with overall architecture and mission objectives.
  • Working closely with product managers and other stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical expertise during the planning and execution of projects.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior team members to ensure high‑quality code and adherence to best practices.

Key technologies:
Java/Spring, Linux/Windows, Elastic Search, MySQL/Postgre

SQL, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker.

What you bring to the table
  • 20+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Four (4) additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Java and associated frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud‑based development and deployment.
  • Solid understanding of database design and optimization for geospatial data.
  • Familiarity with Dev Ops practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • Leadership experience in guiding and mentoring development teams.
  • A TS/SCI with Polygraph level of clearance is required.
Bonus Skills
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information System) principles and applications.

Salary Range:
Disclosed pay ranges are a general guideline, and are not a guarantee of a final salary or compensation. Our approach in determining final salaries takes into consideration a number of factors such as education, certifications, total years of relevant professional experience, actual level of expertise, and the responsibilities of the role itself. Based on the outlined roles, responsibilities, and requirements, the projected pay range for this position is $190,000 - $235,000.
